Is Search Engine Optimization Philadelphia really a young mans game??????

Friday, December 11th, 2009

As I am sitting here in Florida getting ready for this three day conference on Search engine optimization. I am looking around the room saying to myself at 35 I might be one of the younger people here. The majority of people here are all above 45 or at least that is what they look!  I go to many conferences around the country and sometimes I speak on subjects, or sit on a panel, or just attend. This time I am speaking on Mobile Search and I always look at my audience before I speak and see how to make my topic entertaining, and make sure they all learn at least one thing from me.

But now back to my the question”Is Search Engine Optimization Philadelphia really a young mans game?’ I do not believe it is. I look around at   a lot of these conferences and yes I do see young people every once in a while. I have to say a lot of the time I am one the younger people. Maybe it is a maturity thing with older people they constantly what to learn and they want to make sure they are delivering the best Search engine optimizations results to there clients. Maybe it is they have more to be responsible about as they are all growing small to medium size interactive agency’s. May be it the younger generation think they know it all, or just go online and try and learn with all the online tools?

I know one thing for sure Search engine optimization Philadelphia is not just a young man game! It is the person with the most knowledge. Over the next few days I will be sharing tips and talking to people from all over different countries and different backgrounds. But the one thing they all have in common at this conference is they all want to deliver the best Search engine optimizations results to there clients. I am true believer the best way to learn is human interaction. Online learning is good for a lot of things, but I believe when it comes to Search engine optimization you have to communicate, test different theories and see what works best for your clients. The goal of Search engine optimization is not to get your client just rank organically but to make there conversions go up! More leads for them to grow there business…

In summary I believe Search engine optimization is anyone’s game, as long as they know how the space works. Knowledge is power, not youth! When Hiring a Search Engine Optimization company Philadelphia Pa look for over all knowleadge in the space and not just age!

Why High Quality Web Design is So Important

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

There once was a time on the Internet when web design wasn’t very important. Maybe a decade ago or so, the main thing you had to do was just have a website. That factor alone would give you a strong advantage in the marketplace, and you’d have a leg up on your competition who didn’t yet make the move to the online realm. However, those times have long since passed. Now merely having a website isn’t enough. You need to make use of high quality web design to help your business stand out, attract new customers and ultimately be successful on the Internet.

One factor playing into this is that the Internet has expanded greatly over the years. Now nearly every business has a website or multiple online presences, and millions of individuals do as well. That means that there is a huge supply of competition, and it also means that the bar has been raised in terms of what quality web design actually is. Today, if you have an unattractive website or one that doesn’t operate easily you are going to scare away all of your visitors and you’ll lose out on all of that extra money.

Your web design needs to be setup in such a way that the most important information is easily found, and all of the pages can be quickly navigated between. Put yourself in the shoes of a visitor who comes to your site. What are they really seeking out, and how can you provide that for them? It’s about meeting their needs by implementing specific solutions.

Web design will help you take any website visitor and draw that person into the path you want them to take. If you’re trying to sell a product, it should be simple and intuitive to continue to the sales page and make an order. If you want people to send you an email for a quote, getting to that online form has to be as easy as possible. Whatever your goals are, you need to use your web design to bring people to that.

Of course, being attractive and visually pleasing is important in and of itself. A site that has contrasting colors or a poor layout or scheme isn’t going to draw much attention or interest. More often than not people will see a bad looking website and they will just click immediately on the back button. That’s because the site sends off vibes that it is unprofessional, it doesn’t care or perhaps it doesn’t know any better.

None of that is any good to try to establish your brand and your image, or to find new customers and prospects. Therefore an aesthetically pleasing website is extremely important. It will add value to your image and it will make you seem professional and trustworthy.

As you can see, high quality web design plays a huge role in your online success. A poorly designed website will send your visitors running off as they have difficulty finding what they are looking for, as they don’t appreciate the quality or appearance of your website and as you fail to successfully convert them in the ways that you’d like to. Therefore, take all steps necessary to ensure that your website has a unique, top notch web design.

Web Design Firms Choosing the Best for Your Business

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

Just like the previous blog article, “Who is Really Handling Your Work,” you need to ask yourself the same question about in-house and larger firms that manage all of your creative needs, like web design and graphic design. Boutique companies have many advantages that are often overlooked and bypassed when perspective larger companies are looming on the horizon.

The truth is both bigger corporate companies and in-house designers can be largely restricted when it comes to creative bounds, often resorting to already used template designs and recycled graphics. Not only are boutique’s more flexible with design changes, but because you are often working directly with the owner or head designer, there is more room for outside the box, innovative thinking. Designs don’t need to pass through numerous sets of hands, and you don’t have to deal with corporate cookie cutter thinking which can often stifle creativity and originality.

The “fame” that people seek out in corporate businesses can sometimes even backfire in their face. These well known, big budget companies can take the project and vision you originally had and turn it into whatever they want using their name to their advantage. While smaller companies are very eager for the work and are therefore more personally interested and connected to your brand, in turn creating websites and designs that are an involved and passionate reflection of your identity. Even in-house companies are just an extension of the larger company and can create lackluster designs that show no dedication or understanding of your brand.

As mentioned, not only are boutique’s more flexible with designs and changes, but they can also be more efficient. Turnaround time is much faster, largely because of working directly with the head of the company and not having to jump through endless corporate hoops. Also, smaller companies are more accessible over more hours, so the process can move much faster. The longevity of your website or graphic work is extended when working with a boutique too, since the owner that you’ve been working with isn’t looking to fire himself anytime soon.

Your product is the focal point of everything, not just the money you’re handing over in exchange for the service. Since boutiques are smaller, relationships within the company are usually based more on mutual respect and familiarity, which leads to a more single focused goal and a better work environment.

Of course, last but not least is the most priceless advantage yet- personal involvement and face time. Boutique’s are much more hands on, and able to meet on a frequent basis which provides for better communication and overall production. Boutique’s are available where you need them, whenever you need them, which leads to overall satisfaction in your product.
