Using commonsense when building or fixing your Website

Sunday, January 10th, 2010

Let me begin by saying, It is no secret that the internet is not going anywhere and is highly thought of by many as the most efficient way to market your business to potential clients and customers that need your service, but have no particular business name in mind in their local area to do business with.  Why not take advantage of that by having a elite website to be a power selling tool for your business.

Being in the Online Advertising field as long as I have, it has given me the opportunity to meet and talk with so many different types of businesses and business owners about their Internet advertising in the Philadelphia area.  In that time, I have seen a lot people that have been taking advantage of and I have heard some real horror stories when it comes to Internet Marketing for local businesses.  I think that a large part of this could have been avoided had the business used commonsense before signing on the dotted line!

Let’s talk websites.   Every business needs a good website design as much as every person needs a good pair shoes on their feet to go through life to be productive.   If you buy a crappy pair of shoes: they will only hurt your feet, limit your potential, and force you to buy a new pair.  If you build a crappy website:  it will only hurt your business, limit your potential, and force you to build a new one.  Good comfortable, reliable, durable pair of shoes is as important as a professional, correctly built, effective website.

Here is how commonsense can help you with building a new website:

  • ·       Choose an Internet Marketing Company to build your website because they understand what the website needs in order to effectively compete on the internet for local leads. (Not a graphic designer, or your Uncles->Cousins->sister in-laws->son who thinks they know what they are doing and charges you pennies.)
  • ·       When selecting a company to build your website, look at their portfolio of website and decide whether you would do business with one of their sample companies.  IF you wouldn’t, why would someone else after they build you a website(This just day one stuff!)
  • ·       If you think it is just OK to build a crappy website just so you have one. It isn’t!  Not many people will choose your company to do business with after you present yourself with such a terrible display.  (If this is what you want to do, just save the money dummy and treat your employees cheese steaks once a week for lunch, that will get a better response.)
  • ·       Choose a local Website Company that can understand the geography that you are trying to target with your Internet Marketing plan(Just makes sense doesn’t it?)
  • ·       Choose a company that truly understands Search Engine Optimization and Pay-Per-Click, and how they need to be considered when building your website (You have to get people to your website for it to be seen!)

Three Common Research Mistakes Using Pay Per Click Keywords

Monday, January 4th, 2010

When establishing your Pay Per Click Campaign, be careful not to make one of the three most common mistakes. Not enough keywords, brainstorming only tactics and relying on popular and free tools only can be detrimental to your campaign.

Do not get caught without enough keywords. Although the preference would be upwards of a couple thousand you should at least be able to come up with many keywords  that are relative to what your potential customers are looking for.  Make it easy for customers to find you by increasing your keyword count and throwing in all niche terms you possibly can.

Be careful of how you come up with your keywords. Relying solely on brainstorming doesn’t necessarily reflect the searches purchase intentions.  Brainstorming is also the most obvious method making it also the most competitive. Without the use of other tools, brainstorming will lead to only a limited number of keywords which as stated above doesn’t provide the best results.

Wordtracker and Google Keyword Tool are by far two of the most popular keyword research tools available. They are also used by your competitor, which means the results you receive are highly competitive keywords.  There is a lower conversion rate using these tools because the results are volume-based.

A successful Pay Per Click Campaign uses both Quality and Quantity. Having a core set of keywords and preferably thousands of niche words that reflect what your business sells and what your consumers are looking for has extreme advantages. Don’t sell yourself short by making one of the mistakes above.

Why Company’s Have to Pay Per Click!

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

Ok so here we go, I get a ton of emails, and phone calls from people all over! If we hire your firm www.localinternettraffic.com can we not do Pay per Click Bucks County pa. Yes we do Search Engine Optimization for our clients, but Pay per click is a quick lead generation source for your company. Yes Pay per click will be a higher investment per lead, than an organic click. The reason you pay per click is that for a competitive key word with a lot of traffic you can be there right away! Organic traffic for a competitive key word could take a few months, or over a year if very competitive. Every Search Engine Optimization firm should give you an ETA to land above the folds for each key word…

Another thing pay per click can tell you is your web site even designed properly to convert the traffic from that key word on your existing site. Example for everyone real fast. Say you want to show up organically for the key word Pay per click Bucks county PA. Well if you do a Pay per click Bucks county you can see if the people coming through that key word are staying on your site, and converting into a lead by a phone call or email. If leads are not happening, you have an issue with your site, and it would not make sense to pay money to come back organically for that specific key word. You would have to create a page in your site and make sure it converts for that key word.

Pay per click will give you a ROI for sure done correctly. Pay per click will destroy you if done wrong! I have seen so many companies try and do Pay per click themselves and say it doesn’t work! I will tell you this; you don’t work because you do not know what you are doing! Yes if you hire us at first we will tell you to Pay Per Click until we get you all the traffic you need for the organic search results you need.

Any comments or question’s feel free to post them, good or bad we display and we appreciate your opinions.

Also any questions you would like answered just email u sat info@localinternettraffic.com or post it and we will get you the answer you need…

Incorporating Advertising Analytics into Your Website Design

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

In today’s economic climate every dollar in and out counts, so why wouldn’t businesses want to utilize a feature that allows them to track their internal and external environment, along with their internet advertising?

With the rapidly advancing internet tools and technology, almost nothing is as essential as online advertising analytics. This feature is accessible from the start, right when you design your site, so there would seem to be no excuse for companies not to take advantage of it. Creating your site with analytics is a key way to discover what advertising tactics are working, which ones aren’t and what moves to make next in order to stay ahead of the competition.

Ad dollars are scarce and even more valuable than usual. It has become extra crucial to strategically place advertising campaigns where they will most effectively hit the target audience. Advertising analytics incorporated into your site gives highly specialized insight into your campaigns, which in turn will help you better allocate your advertising resources and therefore collect a higher return on investments for your company.

As the President of a boutique company, I often ask myself why this feature isn’t being pushed as a key component to website design by other web and internet marketing companies. I consistently stress this point to my clients, pointing out that the benefits to advertising analytics are priceless. With this tool you can track your audience, content, campaign and traffic. All of this combined with other elements such as marking audits, pay per click advertising, and social media can help to establish your key performance indicators (KPI) and enhance your overall brand. To not take advantage of these features in this day and age is essentially like throwing money out of the window.

The deeper insights attributed to online advertising analytics and overall website functionality analytics is second to none, and can generate sales that otherwise would have been overlooked and insufficiently targeted. With the information generated, you can create precise almost personalized marketing campaigns to drive more traffic and potential consumers to your site and outmaneuver the competition.

So, when designing or having a website designed for larger or smaller companies make sure that web analytics to track your website’s performance along with your advertising dollars is a top priority. Not only for the maximum functionality of your website, but also for your businesses livelihood.
